Chief Financial Officer

Wexford Hayes is partnering with a large national healthcare services organisation to appoint its Chief Financial Officer.

The organisation operates a substantial and geographically dispersed healthcare business across Australia. This is a significant executive appointment with responsibility for the financial and commercial leadership of a complex healthcare organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership across strategy, business performance, growth, investment and transformation.

The role has responsibility for the leadership of a sizeable finance function and extends across commercial performance, planning and analysis, reporting, governance, risk, investment and broader business improvement.

Importantly, this is not simply a technical finance role. The CFO will be expected to understand the operational drivers of the business, provide meaningful commercial insight and contribute to strategic decision making across the organisation.

The Person

We are seeking an experienced CFO or senior finance executive who has held a significant finance leadership role within the healthcare sector.

Candidates will need to demonstrate:

• Senior financial leadership experience within the healthcare sector, ideally across a large, complex or multi-site operating environment

• Strong commercial and strategic capability, with experience partnering closely with a CEO and senior executive team

• Leadership of a substantial finance function, with depth across financial performance, planning, reporting, governance and controls

• Experience contributing to growth, investment, capital allocation and business transformation

• A strong understanding of healthcare operations and the commercial drivers of service delivery

• The ability to move comfortably between strategic and technical matters and translate financial information into business decisions

• Strong people leadership and the ability to build effective relationships across different levels of an organisation

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification

The role is based in Sydney and candidates will need to be currently based in Sydney.
