About the role

The Kinder Garden is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to join our vibrant team in Menai, NSW. This is a part-time position Tue, Wed & Thur that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's learning, development and wellbeing during their crucial early years. As an ECT, you will play a vital role in creating nurturing, stimulating environments where children can thrive, explore and develop foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, creativity and social-emotional competencies. This position is central to our mission of providing high-quality early childhood education and care that supports each child's unique developmental journey.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on the Early Years Learning Framework and individual children's interests, strengths and needs

• Create safe, inclusive and welcoming classroom environments that promote exploration, discovery and positive relationships amongst children

• Observe, assess and document children's progress and development, providing regular feedback to families and colleagues

• Support children's emotional wellbeing, social skills and independence through positive guidance and responsive interactions

• Collaborate with families to understand children's backgrounds, interests and learning goals, fostering strong partnerships

• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant early childhood education and care regulations and policies

• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the continuous improvement of educational practices within the service

• Work collaboratively with fellow educators, support staff and families to create a cohesive, supportive community

What we're looking for

• A recognised Early Childhood Teaching qualification, such as a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent

• Current working with Children Check (or equivalent clearance) and First Aid/CPR certification

• Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and current best practice approaches in early childhood education

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

• Demonstrated ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments that celebrate diversity

• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities

• A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development

• Experience working in early childhood settings, such as kindergarten, preschool or long day care, is highly desirable
