About the Role

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is seeking a Corporate Compliance Program Coordinator to develop, implement and maintain a contemporary compliance management framework that supports legislative, regulatory and mandatory policy compliance across our complex public sector health organisation. 

Reporting to the Executive Director Safety, Quality and Innovation, you will play a key role in strengthening how CAHS identify, assess, monitor and manage its compliance obligations. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across a diverse range of corporate and operational areas, including Corporate and Clinical Governance, Emergency Management, Finance, Contracting, Procurement, Infrastructure and Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will help embed compliance as a proactive and valued component of organisational governance.

You will provide independent, professional oversight and assurance that compliance assessments are robust, evidence-based and appropriately managed. You will also provide expert advice to support the organisation to understand and meet its legislative and regulatory requirements, assess compliance, identify areas of risk and drive continuous improvement.

Success in this role will require strong relationship-building, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior executives, managers and operational teams. You will bring a collaborative and pragmatic approach to managing a complex program, leading change and building organisational capability.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining the CAHS Compliance Management System, framework, policies and procedures, aligned with ISO 19600:2015.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes and maintaining the CAHS compliance obligations and legislative register.
• Implementing and managing the mandatory policy compliance system and associated business-as-usual processes.
• Developing and coordinating risk-based annual and three-year Compliance Review Plans, including compliance assessments, evidence review, risk treatment and remediation.
• Providing independent assurance by reviewing compliance assessments and supporting evidence to ensure findings are objective and robust.
• Maintaining compliance databases, records, KPIs, dashboards and corporate reporting for the Executive, Board and relevant committees.
• Supporting annual compliance reporting and attestation to the CAHS Board.
• Providing expert compliance advice to senior leaders and stakeholders and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on compliance matters.
• Developing education and awareness initiatives to build compliance capability and foster a proactive compliance culture.
• Evaluating and continuously improving the effectiveness of the CAHS compliance framework.

The Safety, Quality & Innovation Division is dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare delivery across CAHS by providing expert analysis and advice aligned to broader health system reform and key safety and quality priorities.

Our team leads the development, implementation and ongoing review of CAHS’s external certification and accreditation processes and plays a key role in advancing organisational strategy relating to safety, quality and clinical governance as well as risk and compliance management systems.
