Join a leading engineering consultancy delivering critical energy infrastructure across Australia. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, delivery, and growth of overhead transmission line projects within our Transmission & Distribution business while building team capability and strengthening our presence in a rapidly evolving market.

What You’ll Do

Lead the delivery of overhead transmission line projects across design, planning, and execution phasesProvide strong technical and people leadership, mentoring engineers and supporting capability uplift across the teamFoster a high-performing, collaborative team culture focused on continuous learning and developmentEnsure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards for design, testing, and commissioningApply your expertise in PLS-CADD, TOWER and/or POLE to support high-quality engineering outcomesOversee the full asset lifecycle from planning through to construction, operation, and maintenanceBuild and maintain strong client relationships, enhancing WSP’s market presence and reputationLead bids, proposals, and strategic growth initiatives to secure new workSupport project delivery in a Project Director / Project Manager capacity where requiredPromote innovation, safety, sustainability, and continuous improvementEnsure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) requirements

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Relevant experience within the Transmission & Distribution industry with proven Australian market expertiseDemonstrated leadership experience across people, projects, and mentoring/coachingStrong background in overhead transmission line design and engineeringExperience with PLS-CADD (TOWER/POLE) highly regardedProven ability in business development, proposals, and winning workExperience delivering projects as a Project Manager or Project DirectorCommercially astute with a strong understanding of business driversEngineering registration (CPEng, CEng or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtainStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing prioritiesA collaborative, client-focused approach with excellent communication skillsResilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment

How You’ll Work

You’ll be based in one of our offices across Australia, ideally Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth or Canberra, working closely with local project teams while collaborating with our national Transmission & Distribution team.

This role offers a mix of office, site, and hybrid working—giving you exposure to both local delivery and large-scale national programs.
