Senior Network Engineer

About the RoleYou will play a key role in designing, implementing, and securing enterprise and industrial network infrastructure across a diverse client base. Your contributions will span the full project lifecycle, from pre-sales and solution design through to deployment, optimisation, and ongoing support. You will work closely with Solution Architects, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes across a variety of industries and environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, stage, test, deploy, and support industrial and enterprise network solutions across design, build, commissioning, and operational phases.Architect and implement secure, highly available network infrastructures, including multi-site and multi-datacentre environments.Deliver advanced routing and switching solutions incorporating OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, WAN, redundant routing, and complex failover scenarios.Design and deploy next-generation security solutions with a strong focus on modern firewall, cloud security, and SD-WAN technologies.Implement and manage SD-WAN, VPN, and Zero Trust security models.Lead network migrations, upgrades, and transformation projects while ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.Conduct network audits, performance assessments, and security reviews, providing actionable recommendations.Produce high-quality technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, as-built documentation, and operational runbooks.Support pre-sales activities including solution design, bill of materials (BOM) creation, and technical proposal development.Collaborate with Solution Architects and cross-functional teams to deliver integrated technology solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues across enterprise environments.
What You'll NeedBe a highly capable Senior Network Engineer who can manage multiple projects autonomously while maintaining high quality standards.Bring strong technical expertise across enterprise networking, wireless, and security technologies.Demonstrated experience designing and delivering secure, resilient network architectures across complex environments.Strong experience with enterprise security platforms, SD-WAN, VPN technologies, and Zero Trust principles.Proven ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation and design artefacts.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & AttributesDeep expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including advanced routing and switching design.Strong experience with enterprise firewall and security platforms.Experience across multi-vendor environments including, Palo Alto, Cisco, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Extreme Networks, and other enterprise networking technologies.Strong knowledge of wireless networking technologies including Wi-Fi 6/6E/7, 802.1X authentication, and site surveying.Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) solutions and cloud-based network management platforms.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across complex network environments.Understanding of Australian Standards and industry practices, particularly within Mining, Aviation, Local Government, and State Government sectors.
CertificationsIndustry-recognised certifications across networking and security technologies are highly regarded, including certifications from Cisco, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto Networks, and Juniper Networks.
