Structural Engineer

FUZE is seeking a practical and commercially minded Structural Engineer to join our small but dynamic Perth team.

We design engineered composite repair and strengthening solutions that extend the life of critical assets, reduce shutdowns and minimise hot work and conventional steel replacement. Our work supports clients across mining, oil and gas, marine, industrial, infrastructure, defence and renewable energy sectors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work within our Engineering team to develop structural repair, strengthening and life-extension solutions from initial assessment through to design, installation and verification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete structural calculations, engineering assessments and finite element analysis.

• Prepare design documentation, drawings, technical reports and repair specifications.

• Verify designs against relevant standards, client requirements and engineering criteria.

• Review inspection data, drawings, operating conditions and material information.

• Provide technical support during project planning, mobilisation and installation.

• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and technical close out.

• Communicate findings and recommendations directly to clients and operational teams.

• Support proposals, estimates, testing, research and continuous improvement.

• Maintain accurate and traceable engineering records.

• Promote safe, high quality and technically sound outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

You are a Structural Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering practical solutions for operating assets. You communicate clearly, work well with technical and field teams, and can manage competing priorities in a project environment.

You will bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.

• Experience in structural design, analysis, asset integrity, remedial engineering or heavy industrial projects.

• Strong knowledge of structural design.

• Experience preparing calculations, reports and design documentation.

• Experience with structural analysis and finite element analysis software.

• Working knowledge of relevant Australian and international standards.

• Strong analytical, technical writing and communication skills.

• A commitment to safety, engineering integrity and quality.

• Australian working rights and the ability to travel to client sites.

Experience in mining, oil and gas, marine or offshore environments will be highly regarded, ideally within a consultancy context.
