About the role
Build the Career You've Been Looking For
You're already a good physiotherapist.
You love helping people. You enjoy private practice. You take pride in achieving great outcomes and building genuine relationships with your patients.
But perhaps you've started wondering whether there's more to your career.
Maybe you've been promised mentoring that never really happened. Maybe your career progression has stalled. Or perhaps you're looking for a clinic where you'll be challenged, supported and genuinely valued.
If that sounds familiar, we'd love to meet you.
At Peakhurst Physio & Health, we're looking for an experienced physiotherapist who wants more than just another job. We're looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional clinician while enjoying the support of a high-performing, genuinely collaborative team.
Before You Apply
To be considered for this role you must:
Have a minimum of three years' experience working in private practice physiotherapy.
Have demonstrated experience building and maintaining your own caseload.
Hold unrestricted AHPRA registration.
Hold full working rights in Australia (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or unrestricted work visa).
Be committed to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Unfortunately, applications that do not meet these minimum requirements will not be considered.
Why Join Peakhurst Physio & Health?
At Peakhurst Physio & Health, we believe behind every injury is a person.
Our role isn't simply to reduce pain, it's to help people get back to living the life they want to live.
We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional physiotherapy with a strong emphasis on hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation and outstanding customer service.
Our therapists are encouraged to think critically, continue learning and develop their own clinical style while always putting the patient first.
This isn't a KPI-driven clinic where you're expected to rush patients through appointments.
Instead, we've built a practice where therapists have the time, support and resources to provide genuinely exceptional care while developing into outstanding clinicians.
This Could Be the Right Opportunity If You...
You're probably someone who:
Loves private practice physiotherapy.
Is a genuine people person who enjoys building long-term relationships with patients.
Believes outstanding physiotherapy is built on both excellent clinical knowledge and exceptional human connection.
Is naturally curious and enjoys understanding why patients present the way they do.
Regularly asks questions, challenges your own thinking and enjoys discussing cases with colleagues.
Is committed to continual learning, not because you have to, but because you genuinely enjoy becoming a better clinician.
Understands that learning happens every day through conversations, mentoring, reflection and treating patients, not just through CPD courses.
Wants to become an exceptional clinician rather than simply becoming more experienced.
Values working alongside experienced clinicians who enjoy sharing knowledge and learning from one another.
Wants to specialise or develop expertise in an area of interest.
Is looking for a long-term career home rather than simply another job.
Enjoys contributing to a positive, supportive and high-performing team culture.
The Role
This position is not suitable for new graduates.
We're looking for an experienced private practice physiotherapist who is confident managing a caseload, communicating with referrers and consistently delivering an outstanding patient experience.
The successful applicant will:
Treat predominantly private musculoskeletal patients (approximately 90% private caseload).
Have appointment lengths tailored to your experience and clinical style.
Work collaboratively alongside an experienced team.
Receive ongoing mentoring and coaching from senior clinicians.
Have the opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest.
The position is flexible, with 15–38 hours per week available for the right person.
An immediate start is available.
What Makes Our Clinic Different?
Peakhurst Physio & Health has proudly served our local community since 1982.
Purchased by the current owner in 2020, the clinic underwent a major renovation in 2025, doubling its footprint to create a modern boutique practice featuring:
Large private treatment rooms.
A dedicated rehabilitation gym and exercise space.
Modern facilities designed around exceptional patient care.
A loyal patient base built over more than four decades.
Full admin support
Our team currently includes four experienced physiotherapists and a remedial massage therapist, with an average physiotherapy experience of more than 12 years.
Our patients don't just come for treatment—they stay because of the relationships we build with them. Many present with complex conditions requiring thoughtful clinical reasoning, collaborative care and genuine commitment to achieving long-term outcomes.
A Culture of Curiosity
One of the things people notice when they join our clinic is how often we talk about patients cases.
We enjoy discussing difficult cases, sharing ideas and learning from each other's experiences.
Asking questions isn't viewed as a weakness here, it's part of how we all become better clinicians.
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious.
Someone who enjoys asking "Why?"
Someone who wants to understand the reasoning behind different treatment approaches.
Someone who sees every patient as another opportunity to learn.
Of course, we support formal professional development through CPD, mentoring and regular in-services.
But we believe the best clinicians aren't simply those who attend the most courses, they're the ones who remain curious every single day.
Mentoring That Actually Happens
One of the biggest frustrations we hear from experienced physiotherapists is:
"I was promised mentoring... but it never really happened."
We've intentionally built our clinic differently.
Our leadership structure includes:
A dedicated Clinical Lead Physiotherapist whose role includes supporting clinical excellence.
A clinic owner who intentionally maintains a smaller clinical caseload to provide mentoring, coaching and leadership.
Regular formal and informal clinical discussions.
Weekly in-services and case reviews.
A collaborative team culture where asking questions is encouraged.
A structured induction program designed to set you up for success.
Whether you're refining your assessment skills, improving your exercise prescription or developing a clinical specialty, you'll always have experienced clinicians available to support you.
A Career, Not Just a Job
We believe talented physiotherapists deserve genuine opportunities to grow.
Whether your long-term goal is to become:
An expert clinician
A clinical mentor
A team leader
A clinic manager
A business partner
Or eventually own a clinic
we want to help you get there.
Our goal is to build careers that provide both professional fulfilment and financial reward.
Salary & Benefits
Your remuneration package will reflect your experience and the value you bring to the team.
Current packages range from an award-based salary through to more than $55 per hour, depending on experience.
You'll also have access to:
A generous performance bonus structure with the potential to earn an additional $15,000–$25,000 per year.
Continuing Professional Development allowance.
Ongoing mentoring and coaching.
Leadership and career development opportunities.
Flexible working hours.
Support from a network of local allied health professionals.
This Probably Isn't the Right Role If...
We believe finding the right fit works both ways.
This role probably isn't for you if:
You're looking for a job where you can simply go through the motions.
You don't enjoy discussing cases or receiving constructive feedback.
You're uncomfortable having your clinical reasoning challenged in a supportive environment.
You prefer working completely independently and rarely collaborating with colleagues.
You're no longer interested in learning and developing as a clinician.
Building strong relationships with patients isn't something you particularly value.
You're primarily motivated by seeing as many patients as possible rather than delivering exceptional care.
If, however, you're excited by learning, love working with people and want to be surrounded by clinicians who challenge and support one another every day, we think you'll love it here.
About Peakhurst Physio & Health
Our vision is simple:
"To help people, not just pain"
Since opening our doors, we've helped well over 10,000 people overcome pain, injury and movement limitations, and we're only just getting started.
We're proud to combine the professionalism and clinical standards of a larger organisation with the warmth, flexibility and culture of a family-owned business.
Our therapists genuinely enjoy coming to work, supporting one another and celebrating each other's successes.
Ready for the Next Step?
If you're looking for the clinic where you'll do the best work of your career, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your resume and a brief cover letter telling us why this opportunity interests you.
