Community Impact Coordinator

Our Hillsong CityCare team are currently looking for a Community Impact Coordinator to join the team at our Sydney-Hills location. This role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering community impact programs and initiatives at a campus level. The role operates under general direction within established frameworks, exercising judgement in day-to-day activities and seeking guidance on complex or non-routine matters. It supports stakeholder engagement and program coordination to ensure initiatives are effectively implemented and aligned with organisational priorities. The role focuses on delivery and coordination and does not include responsibility for program design, strategic planning, or organisational policy development.

Community Impact & Engagement

• Coordinate community impact initiatives in response to identified local community needs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
• Act as the community impact contact for the campus, providing operational input and recommendations to support decision-making by leadership.
• Support the development of relationships between the campus and community partners and build networks & partnerships with other community organisations.
• Ensure community engagement activities are ethical, inclusive, and aligned with organisational values.
• Perform research to understand community’s needs in respect to providing a beneficial and valuable service.

Campus Relations & volunteer Development

• Work collaboratively with campus leadership and teams to embed community impact priorities into campus operations.
• Develop and sustain effective campus relationships that are collaborative, scalable, and aligned with strategic priorities.
• Coordinate the recruitment, onboarding, support, and retention of volunteers engaged in community programs.
• Deliver structured and role specific training to volunteers to support safe, consistent, and effective engagement.
• Provide guidance and support to volunteers within established frameworks and expectations.

Program Coordination & Campaign Delivery

• Coordinate the delivery of community programs (both our own programs or community impact in collaboration with partner organisations) and campaigns at a campus level.
• Adapt programs and campaigns to suit local contexts while maintaining program and process integrity.
• Support and coordinate the local rollout of organisation wide campaigns and initiatives.
• Monitor program implementation and address operational issues as they arise.
• Deliver programs in accordance with established frameworks, guidelines, and direction.

Reporting, Quality & Improvement

• Maintain accurate records, data collection, and reporting related to programs, volunteers, and activities.
• Track program quality and outcomes and contribute to demonstrating impact to campus stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and provide input to program and process enhancements.
• Support organisational monitoring and evaluation activities as required.
• In partnership with line manager, effectively manage the finances for own program activities through ensuring timely payment of invoices and reconciliations while adhering to budget requirements.

Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social work, youth work, public health, or a related discipline desirable. Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Demonstrated experience (at least 5 years) in community development, social services, program coordination, community engagement or a related field.
• Proven ability to coordinate and deliver programs and activities with a high level of autonomy and with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with community stakeholders, partner organisations, diverse communities, and church staff.
• Demonstrated understanding of community development principles, social inclusion, trauma-informed practice, and capacity-building approaches.
• Experience contributing to program monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
• Demonstrated experience supporting, guiding, and training volunteers.
• Sound organisational, administrative, and reporting skills.
• Experience working in campus‑based or multi‑stakeholder environments desirable.
