You can help improve lives and create a positive impact in your community It’s an opportunity to enhance your skills & knowledge & gain new experiences You’ll be helping Red Cross to support vulnerable people across Australia The program  The In Search of Safety program (ISOS) is an Australian Red Cross community education initiative to help build awareness of the real situations facing people who seek asylum around the world, and those who come to Australia for protection. It aims to clarify misinformation and challenge misunderstandings surrounding asylum seekers through thought-provoking presentations, engaging group activities, and enlightening real-life stories, in order to increase community cohesion and cultivate a more welcoming and inclusive Australia.  The opportunity  You will help to improve public understanding of asylum seekers, refugees, and migration by delivering interactive sessions in school forums. All information is presented within a humanitarian framework from a neutral and impartial perspective to allow participants to form their own conclusions.      The impact  As part of the In Search of Safety Program you will contribute to changing the perception of your local community regarding people seeking safety in our country and around the world.      Application requirements For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross To submit this an application you will be need to upload a recent copy of your CV and/or provide details for two professional references  The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory.  Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check  Further information  To find out more about this opportunity please contact Karyn Gillard on (08) 8100 4619 or via email kgillard@redcross.org.au Thank you for considering volunteering at Red Cross.
