Painter & Decorator

About the role

Corner Painting is seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Launceston, TAS, this role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial painting projects. As a Painter & Decorator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality paintwork and decorative finishes that meet our clients' expectations and industry standards. This position is integral to maintaining Corner Painting's reputation for excellence and craftsmanship in the Launceston region.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing surfaces including cleaning, sanding, filling and priming walls, ceilings and other surfaces

• Applying paint, varnish and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment

• 
  

• Selecting appropriate paints, colours and materials in consultation with clients and supervisors

• Protecting floors, furniture and fixtures with drop cloths and coverings

• Operating and maintaining painting equipment and tools safely and effectively

• Ensuring work areas are kept clean and tidy throughout and after project completion

• 
  

• Adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices on all job sites

• Meeting project timelines and maintaining quality standards consistently

What we're looking for

• Demonstrated experience as a Painter & Decorator or similar role in the trades industry

• Proficiency in preparing and finishing various surfaces including plasterboard, timber and concrete

• Knowledge of different paint types, coatings and decorative techniques

• Competency with painting tools and equipment including brushes, rollers and spray systems

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines

• Physical fitness and capability to work at heights where required

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with clients and team members

• Current Driver's Licence or reliable transport to project sites

• Commitment to adhering to health and safety standards and site requirements

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in painting and decorating (preferred)

• Experience with colour selection, design consultation and customer service (advantageous)
