Practice Nurse EN/RN GP Clinic

About the role

First Health Medical Centre is seeking a Enrolled or Registered Nurse for our GP Clinic based in Hampton Park, VIC 3976. This is a casual position with the opportunity to turn permanent for the right candidate, that offers flexibility whilst providing essential nursing support to our busy general practice. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting our doctors, and ensuring our clinic operates smoothly to meet the needs of our diverse patient population.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting patient assessments and taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration rates

• Assisting practitioners with clinical procedures and examinations

• Administering medications and vaccinations as per protocols and under appropriate delegation

• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring infection control standards are maintained and ensure stocks and orders are completed in a timely and cost-efficiently manner

• Perform and recall all relevant and eligble health assessments, EPCs and HMRs etc for patients

• Providing wound care and dressing changes

• Documenting patient information accurately in medical records and clinic management systems

• Supporting patients with health education and self-management advice

• Triaging patients and responding to clinical queries in a timely manner

• Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming clinic environment

• Collaborating with the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity of care

What we're looking for

• Current registration as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

• A valid Australian working visa or citizenship status (If you require sponsorship please contact directly)

• Current CPR/BLS certification

• Immunisation against vaccine-preventable diseases including COVID-19

• Experience working in a general practice or primary care setting

• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in nursing assessment and interventions

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations

• Strong organisational and time management abilities

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy legislation

• A collaborative team-oriented approach to patient care

• Reliable and professional demeanour with a flexible approach to casual work, permanent opportunity available
