About the role
Ready for a career move — and a tree change?
What if your next career move could give you more opportunity — and more life outside work?
AWCON is a rapidly growing Australian civil construction contractor delivering major projects across the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. With projects valued from $1M to $100M+ and a strong national pipeline, we're building a business with ambitious plans for the future.
We're looking for an exceptional Executive Assistant to support our CEO from our Orange Head Office — an opportunity to step into a high-growth business, work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to major projects across Australia.
And the best part? You don't have to give up career ambition to change your lifestyle.
Build Your Career. Change Your Lifestyle.
Make the move from Sydney to Orange — a thriving regional town where career opportunity comes with community, great food and wine, beautiful countryside and a commute measured in minutes, not hours.
With a growing mining, construction and professional services economy, Orange offers the opportunity to build a serious career without the pace and pressure of city life.
For an experienced EA ready for something different, this isn't simply a relocation.
It's the chance to step into a bigger career opportunity, while creating more time for the life you want outside work.
Bring your experience. Build something bigger. Make the move to Orange.
The Opportunity
Based in our Orange Head Office, you will provide high-level, confidential and seamless support directly to our Chief Executive Officer, while providing support to other C-suite executives on an ad hoc basis.
This is a newly created role in a growing business, giving you genuine opportunity to own your space, influence how things get done and become a trusted partner to senior leadership.
You'll be across the detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture — managing the CEO's priorities, coordinating complex travel, preparing high-quality executive communications and presentations, supporting key meetings and helping keep the wider business organised and moving.
This isn't a role where you're simply managing a diary.
You'll be trusted to make things happen.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Providing dedicated, proactive Executive Assistant support directly to the CEO, managing priorities, diary coordination and competing demands.
Acting as a trusted gatekeeper and key point of contact for executive communications and relationships.
Supporting other C-suite leaders on an ad hoc basis with high-priority administrative and coordination requirements.
Preparing, drafting and polishing high-quality presentations, reports, speeches, correspondence and corporate documentation.
Coordinating complex executive travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, itineraries and logistics.
Attending key executive and leadership meetings, preparing detailed minutes and tracking actions through to completion.
Managing confidential information and sensitive matters with absolute discretion and professionalism.
Supporting corporate events, meetings and key business activities.
Providing broader office and corporate administration support to keep the Orange Head Office operating smoothly.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, anticipate needs and make life easier for the executive team.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a high-performing EA who is ready to step up, take ownership and have genuine impact.
You will ideally have:
Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or Senior Administrator supporting a CEO, Managing Director or senior executive.
Experience working in a fast-paced corporate or professional environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently draft executive-level correspondence, presentations and documents.
Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, tight deadlines and complex calendars.
Strong judgement and the confidence to work independently and anticipate what needs to happen next.
Exceptional attention to detail and absolute discretion when dealing with confidential information.
High-level proficiency across Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
A pragmatic, solutions-focused "get it done" approach.
The maturity and confidence to work closely with senior leadership and represent the CEO professionally.
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience within construction, mining, engineering, infrastructure, professional services or another complex operational environment.
Experience supporting a CEO, Board or executive leadership team.
Experience coordinating high-level corporate events or complex multi-stop national travel.
Experience preparing Board papers, executive reports or senior leadership presentations.
What’s on Offer
This is an opportunity to join AWCON at an exciting point in our growth.
You'll have:
A competitive salary package and relocation allowance.
Direct exposure to the CEO and senior leadership team.
Genuine ownership and responsibility — not just administration.
Exposure to corporate strategy, national operations and major infrastructure projects.
The opportunity to broaden your experience as AWCON continues to scale.
Career development and progression opportunities within a rapidly growing Australian business.
The chance to help shape how a growing national company operates.
A lifestyle change without putting your career on hold.
Why AWCON?
AWCON is growing - and we're building the team to grow with us.
With major projects across Australia and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, you'll be joining a business where things are happening quickly, and great people can make their mark.
From the project teams delivering major works on site to the people supporting our operations from Head Office, everyone plays a part in building something bigger.
We're ambitious about where AWCON is heading, and this role puts you close to the people driving that growth.
Bigger projects. Senior leadership partnership. Future-focused work
Ready for a Bigger Move?
You’ve built your career supporting senior leaders. Now it’s time to step into something bigger.
Join a high-growth Australian business at an exciting stage of national expansion, work alongside senior leadership and gain exposure to the mining, construction and heavy industry sectors — while playing a genuine role in what comes next.
And make the move to Orange — where you can build a career with real opportunity, while enjoying community over commute and a lifestyle that gives you more outside of work.
Bigger opportunity. Bigger impact. A better place to live and work
Ready to make the move? We’d love to hear from you.
