The School of Nursing and Midwifery is the University’s largest School and one of Australia’s premier providers of nursing and midwifery education.
 
About the role

This is a key position within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, responsible for teaching and coordinating nursing courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The role also supports high-quality teaching informed by research and incorporates innovative online learning activities and assessments to ensure a high level of student satisfaction and effective pastoral care.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and delivery of substantial components of courses.
• Prepare and deliver curriculum components aligned with the staff member’s disciplinary and professional background.
• Provide leadership to other staff within the teaching team
• Undertake a range of activities to ensure the ongoing improvement of teaching practice.
• Attend School meetings as required and participate in School and University-wide committees and activities.
• Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning and/or professional practice within the discipline.
• Demonstrate a commitment to seeking and responding to feedback (from students, peers, and supervisors) to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications, skills & experience

• Hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent, and a minimum postgraduate certificate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA.
• At least three years of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop teaching resources and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including the effective use of online learning management systems within a tertiary environment.
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team
• Experience in teaching within a tertiary environment.
