Childcare Cook

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Childcare Cook to join our dedicated team at Kidz Ink Long Day Care Centre in Campbelltown, NSW. As a full-time Childcare Cook, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering nutritious meals for the children in our care.

What you'll be doing

1. Plan and prepare a balanced, nutritious menu that caters to the dietary requirements of the children

2. Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals and snacks daily

3. Ensure all food preparation, storage and serving areas meet strict health and safety standards

4. Liaise with the Centre Director and parents to accommodate any special dietary needs

5. Maintain detailed records of food preparation, inventory and ordering

6. Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, organised and well-stocked

What we're looking for

1. Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or catering

2. Experience working as a cook in an early childhood education and care setting

3. Minimum of 6-12 months experience in childcare cooking is required

4. Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety and hygiene practices

5. Excellent time management and organisational skills

6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team

7. Genuine passion for providing high-quality care and nutrition to young children

8. Preferred Working with Children Check, Food Safety Supervisor certification, and Food Handler Certificate
