Senior Liability Loss Adjuster

About the role

Already handling liability claims and wondering what the next move looks like?

Due to continued growth in our liability practice and increasing instructions from major insurer clients, LKA is looking for an experienced Liability Loss Adjuster to join our national Loss Adjusting Department.

We are not looking for someone to simply inherit a pile of files. We are looking for an experienced adjuster who wants autonomy, interesting technical work, direct client involvement and the opportunity to become an important part of the continued growth of our liability practice.

The role

You will manage your own liability portfolio, including matters involving:

• public liability;

• property damage;

• plumbing and trade liability;

• building and construction;

• defective workmanship and resultant damage;

• personal injury;

• multi-party disputes; and

• recovery and contribution opportunities.

You will deal directly with insureds, claimants, insurers, brokers, lawyers, builders, contractors and experts.

The work involves investigation, site attendance, evidence analysis, causation, quantum, liability considerations, reporting, negotiation and recommendations to clients.

Who we are looking for

You will already have solid experience in liability or casualty loss adjusting and be capable of managing files with a high degree of independence.

You should be confident in:

• planning and conducting investigations;

• interviewing parties and witnesses;

• analysing conflicting evidence;

• understanding causation and liability issues;

• assessing expert and technical material;

• reviewing claim quantum;

• identifying contribution and recovery issues;

• preparing clear and defensible insurer reports;

• communicating directly with clients; and

• progressing claims toward resolution.

We are also interested in experienced insurer-side liability professionals with the capability and motivation to transition into external loss adjusting.
