About the role:

SafeWork NSW is seeking a compassionate and resilient Family Liaison Advisor to provide dedicated support to families of deceased workers and seriously injured workers following workplace incidents.

As the primary point of contact, you will guide families through complex investigation and prosecution process, ensuring they receive timely information, practical assistance and access to appropriate support services during what can be a difficult and emotional time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as the dedicated contact for bereaved families and seriously injured workers throughout investigations and legal proceedings.
• Providing clear, accurate and compassionate information about SafeWork NSW's role and processes.
• Coordinating referrals to counselling, advocacy and other support services.
• Liaising with inspectors, solicitors and internal stakeholders to ensure families receive timely updates.
• Preparing correspondence, documentation and case records to support complex matters.
• Contributing to the development of resources and information materials for families and the community.

About You:

We're looking for someone who can build trust and communicate with empathy while managing sensitive and often complex situations. You will bring:

• Experience supporting vulnerable, distressed or traumatised individuals.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written communication and record-keeping abilities.
• Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Resilience and the ability to work effectively in emotionally challenging environments.
