About the role
About Us
Elleisha’s Property Services & Supports is a growing service provider delivering a range of cleaning, property maintenance, lawn and garden, and support services.
We are committed to providing safe, professional and high-quality services to our clients while maintaining a strong focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and the people we support.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Work Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to support our team and ensure our WHS systems, policies and workplace practices remain compliant, practical and effective.
About the Role
The WHS Officer will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of workplace health and safety across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role that will involve working closely with management, supervisors and employees across our cleaning, lawns and gardens, property maintenance and support service teams.
You will assist in identifying workplace hazards, completing risk assessments, reviewing incidents and ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented to protect our employees, clients and members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review and maintain WHS policies, procedures and systems.
Develop and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Safe Work Procedures and other WHS documentation.
Assist supervisors and employees with WHS requirements and safe work practices.
Review incidents, injuries, hazards and near misses.
Conduct and document incident investigations where required.
Monitor corrective actions and ensure identified WHS issues are appropriately addressed.
Assist with WHS inductions, toolbox talks and employee safety training.
Maintain WHS registers, records and compliance documentation.
Monitor the safe use of cleaning chemicals, machinery, equipment and PPE.
Review manual-handling risks associated with cleaning, lawn and garden equipment and other work activities.
Support the development of emergency procedures and response processes.
Assist management with return-to-work and injury-management processes where applicable.
Monitor changes to relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and industry requirements.
Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
Work with management to continuously improve workplace safety systems and practices.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident working with both management and field-based employees.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Qualifications in Work Health & Safety, such as a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or higher.
Previous experience in a WHS, safety, compliance or similar role.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and workplace safety requirements.
Experience completing risk assessments and workplace inspections.
Experience developing or reviewing SWMS, policies, procedures and safe work practices.
Strong incident investigation and reporting skills.
Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
Confidence communicating safety requirements to employees and supervisors.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
A practical approach to identifying and resolving workplace safety issues.
Current Australian driver's licence.
Ability to travel to worksites as required.
Experience within the cleaning, property maintenance, lawns and gardens, community services, disability or NDIS sectors would be highly regarded.
Why Join Elleisha’s Property Services & Supports?
This is an opportunity to take an active role in strengthening WHS practices across a growing organisation.
You will work closely with management and operational teams and have the opportunity to make meaningful improvements to the way workplace health and safety is managed across our services.
We are looking for someone who doesn't just identify WHS problems, but works collaboratively with our team to develop practical solutions that can be implemented in day-to-day operations.
How to Apply
If you are passionate about workplace health and safety and would like to join the team at Elleisha’s Property Services & Supports, we would love to hear from you.
Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter outlining your WHS experience, qualifications and suitability for the position.
Join Elleisha’s Property Services & Supports and help us continue building a safe, compliant and supportive workplace for our employees and clients.
