About the Role

We’re looking for a Warehouse Storeperson with the potential to grow into a much broader role within our warehouse operation.

Initially, you’ll learn the business from the ground up... picking and packing orders, receiving and replenishing stock, unloading containers and understanding how our warehouse systems and processes work.

Over time, we want the right person to develop a thorough understanding of the entire operation and gradually take on more responsibility.

This means we’re not necessarily looking for someone who has spent years working in warehouses. In fact, someone coming from retail, hospitality or another fast-paced customer-focused environment may be an excellent fit.

What matters most is attitude, judgement, reliability, attention to detail and the ability to learn.

The Conni team is different to many warehouses, where we work hard, yet we do so in a manner that always supports each other and the customer. Our culture is most important to us and we are looking for someone who can fit in with us.

This role can be Part-Time (4 days) or Full-Time.

What You'll Be Doing

Initially, your work will include:

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Making sure orders leave our warehouse presented properly and ready for the customer.
• Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock.
• Stock replenishment and stocktakes.
• Unloading containers and organising incoming stock.
• Using our computer systems to process and manage warehouse activity.
• Operating a walkie stacker.
• Forklift operation once trained and licensed.
• Helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient warehouse.
• Working with the rest of the team to solve problems rather than simply passing them on.

As you become more experienced, you'll be encouraged to learn more about:

• Warehouse planning and daily workflow.
• Inventory management and stock control.
• Freight and dispatch processes.
• Our warehouse and business systems.
• Process improvement and problem solving.
• Coordinating work within the warehouse team.
• Taking greater responsibility for the smooth running of warehouse operations.

For the right person, there is genuine scope for this role to grow substantially.

Who We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable and takes pride in doing things properly.
• Notices when something doesn’t look right and is prepared to speak up.
• Has strong attention to detail.
• Is comfortable learning and using different computer systems.
• Can organise their work and manage competing priorities.
• Is willing to learn rather than pretending to already know everything.
• Enjoys working as part of a small team.
• Can work independently once trained.
• Understands that warehouse work ultimately affects a real customer at the other end.
• Is physically fit and comfortable with demanding work.
• Can safely lift items weighing up to approximately 20 kg.
• Is available between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday. There is no regular weekend work.

Previous warehouse experience is not required.

Experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or another environment where accuracy, pace and responsibility matter may be just as valuable.

Forklift experience is also not required. Training can be provided.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in more than a job, we know that wee can teach someone how our warehouse works. It is much harder to teach curiosity, initiative, common sense and pride in your work.

We’re particularly interested in someone who wants more than simply turning up, completing a list of tasks and going home.

If you like understanding why something is done, looking for better ways of doing it and gradually taking on greater responsibility, you'll probably fit in well here.

Pay: $58,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
