Product engineer

About the role

As Product Engineer, you will be part of a growing engineering team that supports key business functions within Aliview, a leading South Australian manufacturing business. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support critical business functions and ensure the organisation is geared up for change, as well as keeping the wheels turning daily. This role will suit someone who enjoys understanding how things fit together, using mathematical methods to ensure consistency and repeatability, being process driven, having a passion for technical details and applying construction standards to products.

Key responsibilities

• Support the estimating team with BOM creation, troubleshooting and technical support

• Introduce, setup and optimisation of new products within internal software systems

• Maintain material & cost databases to ensure accuracy of costing

• Create drawings for specific building in conditions, tooling and products using Computer Aided Design software

• Ensure products comply with relevant standards including NCC, AS2047 and AS1288

• Provide technical support, training and guidance to production staff

• Update & create user libraries of relevant commercial suites

• Assist with builder education & training

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS requirements

• Identify and implement process improvements, including Lean and 5S initiatives

About you

• Previous experience in a product engineering role

• Engineering qualification or relevant trade background

• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment

• Strong mathematical aptitude

• Advanced excel skills

• Previous experience of CAD software essential

• Exposure to CNC machining, tooling or programming

• Working knowledge of NCC, AS2047 and AS1288 desirable

• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

• A hands-on and proactive approach with a strong commitment to workplace safety
