Amaze Early Education Beaudesert is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our warm and welcoming team and support our onsite Chef in providing delicious, nutritious meals for the children in our care.

Located at the entrance to beautiful Beaudesert, our farmhouse-style centre sits on the land of the Mununjali people. With seven rooms caring for children aged 0–5, our kitchen is at the heart of our centre — with an open window connecting our kitchen with families, children and educators throughout the day.

⏰ About the opportunity

Initial hours: 6:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, for approximately four weeks while our Chef is on leave in August/September.

Ongoing hours: From late September 9:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday.

For the right person, there is an opportunity for the role to transition from casual to permanent part-time employment. 🌟

🍓 What you'll be doing

Working alongside our Chef, you will help ensure our children receive fresh, nutritious and safely prepared meals each day. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of meals and snacks for children aged 0–5

• Supporting meals for children with allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements

• Preparing fresh fruit and vegetables and assisting with baking

• Following food safety, hygiene and allergen management procedures

• Supporting appropriate food temperature control, storage and kitchen records

• Washing dishes and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment

• Following childcare food safety, health and safety requirements

• Working collaboratively with our Chef, educators and centre team

• Creating a warm and welcoming presence for children and families who visit our service

💛 About you

We're looking for someone who is reliable, caring and takes pride in their work. You will ideally have:

• Previous kitchen or food preparation experience

• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices

• Safe knife-handling skills

• An understanding of allergens and dietary requirements

• A current paid Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one

• A Food Safety Supervisor certificate, or willingness to obtain one

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Good organisation and time management

• The ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records

• A respectful and professional approach to confidentiality

• A genuine interest in contributing to children's health, wellbeing and positive experiences
