Kareena Private Hospital is a dynamic acute care 142 bed facility. Kareena caters for a full range of specialties including cardiology, orthopaedics, general surgery, colorectal surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, general medicine, geriatric medicine, rehabilitation, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine and vascular surgery. Radiology and pathology services are also available on site.

Kareena Private Hospital has an exciting casual position available within the Catering Team.

About the Role

You will work collaboratively with kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences and contribute to the smooth operation of our food service department.

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals in a commercial kitchen or short order cooking environment
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control standards
• Follow recipes, dietary requirements, and production schedules accurately
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP principles
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Support stock rotation, food storage, and waste minimisation practices

About You: 

To succeed in this role, you will be a reliable team player who thrives in a busy environment.

• Previous commercial cooking or short order cooking experience
• Experience working in healthcare, aged care, hospitality, or food service environments highly regarded
• Flexible availability across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
• Compliance with HACCP, Food Safety and Workplace and Health and Safety
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (desirable) 
• Willingness to accept and promote Ramsay’s core values
