Sales Assistant

We are looking for a customer focused and dynamic Sales/Store Assistant to join our team based in St Marys on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Store Manager, we are looking for a dedicated, customer-focused person who wants to progress in their career. Previous paint or hardware knowledge would be welcome but is not essential as full product training will be provided on the job. • Assist trade painters and retail customers with product selections, accessories, product and application advice.

• Mix and tint paint to customer specifications

• Receive deliveries, unpack stock, merchandise shelves, and assist with managing inventory levels.

• Comfortably and safely lift heavy paint tins and stock boxes weighing up to 15–25 kg on a regular basis

• Deliveries using the Store vehicle (where applicable)

• Store housekeeping and following the store’s safety standards.

• Previous retail assistant experience with good communication skills and a customer-first attitude.

• Basic computer literacy to operate the Point of Sale (POS) and computerised tinting systems.

• A valid Australian driver's licence (Class C).

• Prior paint, hardware, or trade experience is highly regarded but not essential (on-the-job training provided).

• Strong physical fitness and compliance with manual handling safety guidelines. You will be comfortable with manual handling as part of your normal day. For example - lifting heavy paint tins (up to 25 kgs), pushing and pulling trolleys, using pallet jacks, standing for long periods, kneeling, loading the ute for paint deliveries, and doing the delivery and unloading on the other side. 

• You will have the flexibility to work on a 38-hour roster between the hours of 6:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday (you will need to be able to provide work availability for half-day weekend work from time to time - roster to be negotiated with successful candidate).
