National Emergency Response Manager - Noble Park VIC

ISS First Response is a leading national Transport Emergency Response service provider, currently seeking a Full Time National Emergency Response Manager in Noble Park VIC.

It is NOT a medical responder role.

About the Role:

We are seeking an Experienced Emergency Response Manager who has prior experience likely in the road transportation industry, other industry experience may be transferrable. This is a highly unique role that will see you use your emergency management experience combined with project management to oversee a large team across Australia. The role combines operational leadership with frontline emergency response, ensuring the highest standards of safety, emergency preparedness and team capability.

This role has the full support of our 24/7 Call Centre & Head Office resources.  Our Call Centre facilitates the arrangement of contractor services, regulatory reporting and liaison between the incident site and clients.  With an extensive national database of services, ISS First Response is at the forefront of incident management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead & mentor the national network of ISS Emergency Response CoOrdinators

• CoOrdinate & deliver emergency response training & exercises to the ISS Emergency Response CoOrdiantors

• Provide operational leadership during a highly diverse range of incidents including HAZMAT events, complex recoveries to bulk tanker rollovers

• Supervise & manage the preparedness & readiness of the ISS Emergency Response CoOrdinators 

• Post incidents, manage recovery & remediation projects where required, working with Contractors and other key stakeholders

• Form & develop working relationships with major clients, emergency service agencies and other related authorities

• Promote a positive safety culture and one of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor / Advanced Diploma in Emergency Management, Public Safety or equivalent

• Demonstrated leadership experience in Emergency Management and or Project Management

• Chain of Responsibility knowledge

• Fatigue Management knowledge

• HSEQ knowledge.

In this "hands-on" and varied role you will:

• Be the initial first point of contact for the emergency response, making time critical decision organising ISS Responders and resources as required

• Ensure the appropriate level of client communication & instructions are managed

• Maintain emergency response equipment & systems to ensure operational readiness

• Support high-risk work through planning & safety advice

• Work closely with the other ISS internal Managers from compliance, administration, client services and the incident management centre.
