About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our talented culinary team at The German Arms Hotel in the picturesque town of Hahndorf, South Australia. As a full-time Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by preparing high-quality, creative dishes that showcase the best of local produce.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing a variety of dishes across our menus, including à la carte, specials and daily chef's selections

2. Ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste and presentation

3. Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment

4. Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and refine existing dishes

5. Providing guidance and support to junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment

6. Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Chef in a similar hospitality environment

2. Formal culinary training or qualifications

3. Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and food presentation

4. Strong time management and organisational skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen

5. Ability to thrive in a team environment and provide mentorship to junior staff

6. Passion for using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients to create delicious, memorable dishes
