Building Supervisor - Commercial Fit Out & Refurbishment

About the Role 

You already have experience running a site. Coordinating trades, planning the day’s works, sorting supply, dealing with the client standing in front of you. You do the do. 

The next step is running the job, not just the site. Program, cost, scope, client relationship, the commercial side. That is the step this role is built for. 

You will be supervising commercial fit out, refurbishment and building rectification projects across South Brisbane and Northern Gold Coast. Job values range from $5k to $500k across hospitality, commercial insurance, retirement living and commercial fit outs. Plenty of variety and plenty of jobs, so you learn fast. 

You will work alongside our experienced Building Supervisors and Project Managers and for the right person this is a genuine path into Project Management. 

One thing to be clear on: this is not a just a desk job there will be times where you will be required to be onsite, and some days the fastest way to get it done is to pick up the tools yourself. We lead from the front here.

What you will be doing 

• Running day to day site operations and planning the works 

• Coordinating trades and subcontractors and holding them to program 

• Organising materials, equipment and supply so the site never stops 

• Pre-starts, toolbox talks and site safety inspections 

• Site inspections, clarifying scope queries 

• Quality checks, defects, QA records, progress photos and handover documentation 

• Managing the client relationship on site and keeping them informed 

• Picking up the tools when the job needs it 

What you will grow into 

• Running multiple projects at once

• Building and adjusting project programs 

• Cost tracking, progress claims and subcontractor invoices 

• Scope development and providing input to estimators on pricing 

• Larger and more complex projects as you grow

About You 

• Trade background with real time on commercial sites 

• Demonstrated experience as a Leading Hand or Site Supervisor. You have run a site, not just worked on one 

• Proven ability to direct trades and subcontractors and get a job finished on time 

• Solid understanding of WHS, building standards and quality expectations 

• Confident dealing with clients on site 

• Organised. You can hold a program in your head and still do the paperwork 

• Comfortable on a laptop and phone apps for site documentation and reporting 

• White Card and current driver’s licence
