GeoSphere Drilling focuses on building long-term partnerships through integrity, technical excellence, and outstanding service.Role Description The Drillers Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Morisset, NSW, supporting drilling operations across a variety of geotechnical, environmental, and water bore projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting the driller with rig setup, operation, and pack-down; handling drill rods, tooling, and samples; and maintaining a clean and safe worksite. The role involves monitoring equipment, mixing and handling drilling fluids, and helping with basic mechanical checks and minor repairs under supervision. The Drillers Assistant will follow safety procedures, participate in pre-start meetings, complete required documentation, and support accurate sample collection and site reporting. The position may require working in varying weather conditions, traveling to different sites, and performing physically demanding tasks as part of a field-based team.Qualifications Previous experience in drilling, construction, mining, civil works, or other field-based labor roles is highly regarded.Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with the ability to follow procedures, use PPE correctly, and participate in safety programs.Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks, work outdoors in varying conditions, and operate safely around heavy equipment.Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling rigs and associated machinery.Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively in a small team with clear communication and cooperation.Current driver’s license; HR or MR license amd OHS constrcution white card mandatory.First Aid, RIW, 4X4 training and any relevant industry tickets are highly regarded.Ability to pass medical and D&A testing mandatory.Willingness to undertake training, follow instructions, and develop skills toward more advanced drilling responsibilities over time.
