Telecommunications Apprentice - Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology

Acubis is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Telecommunications Technician to join us in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to complete an ICT30524 Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology through a two-year apprenticeship while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians on a range of telecommunications infrastructure and operational technology projects. As you progress through your studies, you will develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and real-world experience supporting the delivery of critical communications and technology solutions.

What You'll Learn

As an Apprentice Telecommunications Technician, you'll receive on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced industry professionals while developing skills in:

• Designing and configuring IP networks
• Installing and maintaining radio communication systems
• CCTV installation and maintenance
• Wireless network installation and configuration
• Network fault finding and troubleshooting
• Conducting RF (Radio Frequency) site surveys
• Commissioning and testing new installations
• Working with engineering and project teams to deliver technical solutions
• Supporting customers and resolving technical issues

We're looking for someone who is:

• Eager to learn, develop new technical skills and complete training assessments
• Genuinely interested in technology, communications and networking
• Able to follow instructions and work procedures
• Responsible and complies with safe work practices
• A good problem solver with a positive attitude
• Reliable, motivated and willing to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working both in the office and on customer sites
• Able to communicate with customers and colleagues

Essential Requirements

• Completed Year 10, Year 12 or equivalent
• Committed to completing a Certificate III apprenticeship
• Interested in site-based work and working in a range of environments
• Access to reliable personal transportation and current manual driver’s licence
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
• Resides in Mackay region

Applicants with existing qualifications or industry experience in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related fields will not be considered for this apprenticeship; but may be considered for future Telecommunications roles within Acubis.
