About the role
Ai-Menu is an Australian hospitality technology company providing an integrated suite of POS, payments, online ordering, QR ordering, kiosks and other technology solutions to restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs and hospitality venues.
We're looking for an experienced, energetic and commercially minded Senior Business Development & Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of hospitality customers while actively developing new business across Brisbane and surrounding areas.
This is not a desk-based sales role. You'll spend the majority of your time on the road, visiting hospitality venues, building relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities and introducing Ai-Menu to new venues.
The RoleYou'll become a key face of Ai-Menu in the market and will be responsible for both growing our customer base and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
Regularly visiting existing Ai-Menu customers across your territory
Developing strong, long-term relationships with venue owners and managers
Identifying opportunities to introduce additional Ai-Menu products and services
Generating new business through prospecting, referrals, networking and direct venue visits
Conducting product demonstrations and presenting solutions to prospective customers
Understanding each venue's operations and recommending appropriate POS, payments and hospitality technology solutions
Preparing proposals and negotiating commercial agreements
Managing opportunities from initial contact through to close and implementation
Working closely with our sales, support and implementation teams
Identifying at-risk customers and proactively helping maintain strong customer relationships
Developing relationships with hospitality groups, industry partners and referral sources
Maintaining accurate customer, opportunity and activity information within our CRM
Representing Ai-Menu professionally throughout the hospitality industry
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being out in the market and dealing with customers face-to-face.
You'll ideally have:
5+ years' experience in B2B sales, business development or account management
Strong field sales or territory management experience
A proven ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships
Demonstrated new-business development and closing experience
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Strong commercial awareness and confidence discussing pricing, margins and ROI
The ability to manage your own territory, diary and priorities with minimal supervision
Good CRM and follow-up discipline
A current Australian driver's licence
The confidence to walk into a hospitality venue, introduce yourself and start a conversation with the owner
Experience within any of the following would be particularly valuable:
Hospitality POS systems
EFTPOS, payments or merchant services
Hospitality software / SaaS
Online ordering or delivery technology
Foodservice or beverage distribution
Hospitality equipment or technology
Territory management involving restaurants, cafés, pubs or clubs
Previous experience working directly with hospitality venue owners is a major advantage.
What Makes This Role Different? This isn't purely a new-business "hunter" role, nor is it traditional account management.
You'll have an established customer portfolio to develop and protect while also having significant opportunity to win new business.
We're looking for someone who wants to become a trusted contact for our customers — someone who knows their venues, understands their businesses and is regularly out seeing them.
At the same time, you'll be expected to recognise opportunities, open doors and turn relationships into commercial results.
What We OfferEstablished Australian hospitality technology company
Large existing customer portfolio
Modern POS, payments and hospitality technology product suite
Significant opportunity to generate new business
A highly autonomous, field-based position
Direct access to senior management and decision-makers
Brisbane-based support and development teams
Competitive base salary plus performance-based remuneration
Vehicle allowance / package [adjust as applicable]
Phone and other tools required for the role
Above all, we're looking for someone who is commercial, personable and proactive.
You should be equally comfortable sitting down for a coffee with a long-standing customer, demonstrating technology to a prospective venue, negotiating a commercial agreement, or simply walking into a restaurant you've never visited before and introducing yourself.
If you already have strong relationships within the hospitality industry, we'd particularly like to hear from you.
To apply, please submit your CV along with a brief introduction outlining your experience in field sales, account management and/or the hospitality industry.
