Autosales Australia is a growing family-owned automotive business specialising in both wholesale and retail vehicle sales. We are currently establishing our new workshop and vehicle preparation site and are looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our new site from the beginning and play an important role in setting up and operating our internal workshop.

You will be working in a purpose-built environment with a steady flow of internal vehicles, rather than a general public workshop.

About the Role

You will be working primarily on our internal vehicle stock, preparing vehicles for both wholesale and retail sale.

The role will involve a wide variety of mechanical work, including servicing, diagnosis, inspections, repairs and general vehicle maintenance across multiple makes and models.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing and general maintenance of internal vehicle stock

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

• Carrying out mechanical repairs and component replacement

• Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying required repairs

• Completing pre-sale mechanical and safety checks

• Preparing vehicles for wholesale and retail sale

• Carrying out roadworthy inspections and roadworthy-related repairs

• Using diagnostic equipment for fault finding

• Brake, suspension, steering and cooling system repairs

• Timing belt and timing chain inspections and repairs

• General mechanical repairs and maintenance

• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop

• Working efficiently to meet vehicle preparation timeframes

About You

We are looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic who:

• Has proven experience in the automotive industry

• Has strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills

• Is confident working across a range of makes and models

• Takes pride in their workmanship

• Can work independently and as part of a team

• Has good attention to detail

• Is reliable, organised and has a positive attitude

• Holds a current Victorian driver's licence

• A Victorian Roadworthy Certificate Inspector licence would be highly regarded
