The Opportunity

CY Partners are supporting a leading international Life Sciences organisation with the appointment of an experienced Study Director – Bioanalysis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior bioanalytical scientist with expertise in ligand binding assays (LBA) and immunoassays to join an established organisation supporting pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical drug development programmes.

The Role

As Study Director, you will take scientific and operational ownership of multiple GLP bioanalytical studies, with a particular focus on ligand binding assays and immunoassay-based bioanalysis.

You will manage studies from initiation through to completion, working closely with clients and internal R&D, Operations and Quality teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to a high scientific standard and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead GLP bioanalytical studies as Study Director or Principal Investigator.
• Oversee ligand binding assay and immunoassay validation and analysis.
• Manage multiple studies, clients and project timelines.
• Ensure scientific integrity, data quality and GLP/regulatory compliance.
• Act as a senior scientific contact for clients and external partners.
• Work closely with R&D and Operations to support method development, transfer and validation.
• Troubleshoot complex bioanalytical, LBA and immunoassay issues.
• Coordinate analytical activities across multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor and support junior scientists and study support personnel.
• Contribute to SOP development, process improvement and regulatory compliance.

About You

You will ideally have:

• A degree in a Life Sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience in regulated bioanalysis, ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO environment.
• Experience as a Study Director within a regulated environment.
• Strong experience with ligand binding assays (LBA) and immunoassays, including development, validation and/or sample analysis.
• Experience with platforms such as ELISA, ECL/MSD or other immunoassay technologies.
• A strong understanding of GLP and regulated bioanalytical environments.
• Excellent scientific problem-solving, data interpretation and client-facing communication skills.
• Experience with LIMS; Watson experience would be advantageous.
• Previous team leadership, mentoring or management experience is desirable.
