BALATIN GROUP PTY LTD Movens Truck Sales, operated by Balatin Group Pty Ltd, is a licensed motor car trader specialising in quality pre-owned commercial vehicles, based at Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. We are also taking on a new dealership franchise representing a leading Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer. We are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.

The role is workshop-based at our premises and centres basen in Northern Suburbs of Melbourne on inspecting, servicing, repairing and preparing our stock of commercial vehicles - including prime movers, tippers, tautliners, tray trucks, reefers and pantechs - so that every truck we deliver is presented in excellent mechanical condition and ready for work. Superannuation and entitlements in accordance with Australian law. Supportive small team led by hands-on management. Task & responsibilities Inspect and assess incoming pre-owned commercial vehicles and prepare condition reports and repair estimates.

Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and related systems, including with computer-assisted diagnostic equipment. Dismantle, check, repair or replace, and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering, suspension, driveline and braking components, including air braking systems. Perform scheduled servicing, oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, and ensure vehicles comply with emission and pollution requirements.

Test and adjust repaired components and road-test vehicles for proper performance. Prepare vehicles for roadworthy inspection and for pre-delivery to customers. Maintain workshop records of inspections, repairs and parts used.

Assist with customer handovers and respond to post-delivery mechanical queries, including occasional breakdown support. Qualification & experience Trade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic - AUR31520 Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology, or an equivalent Australian or overseas qualification. At least three years of post-qualification experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.

Strong diagnostic skills across compression-ignition engines, air braking, driveline and emission-control systems. Current driver licence; HR licence (or willingness to obtain) highly regarded. Able to work independently, manage priorities across multiple vehicles, and keep accurate records.
