Lead Hydraulic Engineer - Data Centres

What You’ll Do

As Lead Hydraulic Engineer, you will be managing the delivery of high-impact data centre projects, responsible for both technical leadership and project outcomes:

• Leading hydraulic services design for data centres and mission‑critical facilities, ensuring compliance with stringent technical, operational, and client-specific requirements.
• Acting as the subject matter expert for hydraulic systems, developing solutions that support high availability, redundancy, and operational resilience.
• Delivering efficient, scalable, and future-ready designs aligned with the evolving needs of the data centre sector.
• Leading hydraulics delivery within large multidisciplinary teams on major projects across Australia.
• Building trusted relationships with key clients in the data centre and technology sectors, supporting repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Identifying and driving growth opportunities in what is a priority and expanding market for WSP.
• Mentoring and developing engineers, helping build capability in a critical and high-demand sector.

About You

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or similar) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years’ experience in building services, with strong hydraulic design expertise.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects; data centre or mission‑critical experience is highly regarded (or a strong interest in specialising in this sector).
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, and regulatory frameworks.
• Consulting background preferred; major project or D&C experience is advantageous.
• Experience with Revit and BIM workflows.
• Strong leadership, client engagement, and commercial acumen.
