Respiratory Scientist

About the role

Bendigo Respiratory is looking for a suitably qualified indivdual to perform computerised respiratory testing and implementation of home sleep studies on patients in a specialist medical practice.

Specific Duties

• Ensure the safety and care of all patients and visitors

• Perform computerised respiratory function tests on medically referred patients

• Implementation of home sleep studies

• Printing & collation of results and associated clerical duties

• Attach results to electronic “Genie” medical file

• Quality control of equipment to required medical & scientific standards

• Infection control of apparatus and equipment

• Trouble shooting of testing procedures, instrumentation, computer software and hardware as needed

• Ordering of routine supplies for respiratory laboratory

• Liaison with other staff and patients

• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

• Maintain clean working environment

Term of appointment

• Initial three month trial

• Following successful trial ongoing part time appointment

• Usual days of work: Wednesday & Thursday

• Hours generally 16 hours/week

• Opportunity for additional hours in other practice roles
