About us

The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is a standalone business unit within the Department of Justice & Community Safety led by the Public Advocate, an independent statutory office holder accountable to the Victorian Parliament.  The Office of the Public Advocate serves to protect the rights and enhance the position of people with disabilities in Victoria. 

OPA manages key programs to support its mission including guardianship and individual advocacy, provision of community advice, communications and community education, systemic advocacy and volunteer safeguarding programs.

The Corporate Services team delivers a range of business-enabling functions, including Finance, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Human Resources and Administration Services. 

What you will do

As ICT project and systems lead, you will lead ICT services across the office. You will manage projects, systems, risks, suppliers and the ICT budget.

You will:

• lead reliable ICT services, systems and digital tools across the office.
• provide clear advice on ICT risks, priorities, options and service issues.
• manage case management systems, data, reports, dashboards and system changes.
• lead practical ICT projects that improve digital services and reduce admin work.
• support two ICT officers through work planning, coaching and clear priorities.

About you

A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential. You need strong experience in ICT service delivery and technical leadership.

You should also have:

• strong Microsoft skills across business systems, hardware, infrastructure and ICT services.
• experience managing systems, data, reports, dashboards, budgets and supplier costs.
• strong project delivery skills, including planning, risk management and system changes.
• clear communication skills and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
