Goolburri Aboriginal Health Advancement Co. Ltd is dedicated to advancing health and well-being services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We advocate for culturally appropriate healthcare and work closely with community leaders to ensure Aboriginal voices are heard. 

The Opportunity 

The Family and Community Connector will play a pivotal role in supporting child wellbeing initiatives by developing detailed family genograms (family trees), conducting in-depth research, and facilitating kinship connections for First Nations children. This position is an exciting opportunity to work across the Family and Child Wellbeing Program, engaging with families, communities, and external agencies to ensure culturally aligned and family-appropriate placements. 

About you 

We are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting children and families, with a strong cultural understanding of kinship structures, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can engage respectfully with families and community members. With a proactive and sensitive approach, you have the ability to develop meaningful relationships, understand family dynamics, and provide valuable support in kinship placement decisions. You are detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to contributing to child and family wellbeing initiatives. 

Must haves:  

• Current Blue Card Holder - No Card, No Start

• Current Drivers Licence  

• LCS2 clearance. 

• Relevant qualification or experience in social services, community work, or related field or be willing to undertake professional development. 

• Cultural Competency would be highly desirable
