Centre Chef | Brand new 88 place centre | Reservoir

Whiz Kidz Early Learning Centre & Preschool is excited to be opening a brand-new 88-place service in Reservoir, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Centre Chef to join our founding team.

This is a unique opportunity to establish the kitchen from day one and play an important role in supporting children's health, wellbeing, and development through nutritious, high-quality meals.

Our services focus on play-based learning, meaningful relationships, and supporting children to become confident, capable, and involved learners.

As our Centre Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks for up to 88 children each day.

You will:

• Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks in line with childcare nutrition guidelines

• Cater for children's allergies, dietary requirements, and cultural preferences Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment

• Manage food ordering, stock rotation, and kitchen budgets Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and centre policies

• Work collaboratively with educators and families to support children's wellbeing

• Promote positive food experiences and healthy eating habits

This is a fulltime position working Monday to Friday 6.30am - 2.30pm/7am-3pm. To commence mid August 2026.

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook within an Early Childhood Education and Care setting

• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• Knowledge of nutrition requirements for young children

• Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage kitchen operations

• Current Working With Children Check & National Foundations Child Safety training.
