About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Leading Hand Warehoused to join THE TYREPROFESSIONALS team in Sunshine West, VIC. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage warehouse operations within a dynamic and growing organisation in the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector.

As Leading Hand Warehoused, you will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining safety standards, and supervising team members to achieve organisational objectives. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth warehouse functions and plays a crucial part in our supply chain success.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure efficient completion of daily tasks and meet operational targets

• Monitor warehouse inventory levels and ensure accurate stock management and organisation

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations

• Conduct regular safety inspections and implement safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment

• Train and mentor team members on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety standards

• Prepare and maintain accurate warehouse documentation, including inventory records and work reports

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and productivity

• Liaise with management regarding warehouse performance, staffing needs, and operational challenges

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and company policies

• Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including forklifts and other material handling machinery

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leading hand capacity

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff

• Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and stock control systems

• Relevant forklift and material handling equipment qualifications or certifications

• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

• Computer literacy and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software

• Physical capability to perform warehouse duties and supervise in an active environment

• A commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards
