What the role is

Take the next step in your soil testing career and join our Macarthur Laboratory team. This role is open to:

• Experienced Soil Technicians looking to expand your career into a senior position, working towards future leadership opportunities.

• Laboratory Supervisor who can lead and mentor while remaining hands-on in dynamic lab environment.

The role will involve:

• Perform soil, rock, aggregate and concrete testing following Australian Standards;

• Conduct hands-on laboratory and field testing, data analysis and reporting;

• Support and assist in daily laboratory operations and maintenance;

• Train and mentor junior lab technicians and assistants;

• Assist with calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment;

• Support Level 1 earthworks supervision (AS3798) and Level 2 earthworks testing;

• Collaborate with senior staff to deliver high-quality results;

• Help ensure safe work practices and maintain a clean, efficient lab environment. 

About you

You will be a team player with a high level of initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm. Your excellent communication skills, commitment, time management and your desire to deliver work to the highest standards are essential.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

Must-haves:

• Current Nuclear Gauge Licence and valid Australian driver’s licence;

• Strong understanding of Australian Standards for soil, rock, aggregate and concrete testing;

• Experience in Level 1 earthworks supervision and Level 2 earthworks testing;

• White Card (OHS Induction);

• Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset;

• Excellent attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills;

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous soils laboratory experience, including NATA signatory work;

• Experience with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance.
