Medical Receptionist

About the role

We require a highly skilled Medical Receptionist who is professional and friendly with previous experience to join our GP practice and our Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient service while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming, triaging and assisting patients in a professional and friendly manner

• Managing patient appointments, bookings, cancellations and enquiries

• Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries

• Maintaining accurate patient records and demographic information

• Processing Medicare, EFTPOS and patient payments

• Managing referrals, correspondence, forms and administrative requests

• Communicating effectively with doctors, nurses and other practice staff

• Maintaining patient privacy, confidentiality and information security

• Following practice policies, procedures and accreditation requirements

• Managing urgent or sensitive situations appropriately and escalating to clinical staff when required
