The Quotes & Orders Team Member plays a critical role in managing the quoting and ordering process for our truss & frame customers. You will prepare accurate and timely quotes, process customer orders, and deliver exceptional customer service via phone and email, ensuring every quote and order meets both our customers ‘ needs and Dahlsens’ policies.

Reporting to the Quotes & Orders Manager, you will collaborate closely with the sales team so that quotes and orders align with sales strategies and targets. You will maintain up-to-date product and pricing knowledge, resolve any discrepancies quickly, and contribute to process improvements that keep our quoting and ordering system running smoothly. Your leader will provide coaching, development and mentoring throughout to help you grow in the role.

This is a detail-focused, fast-paced role for someone who takes pride in accuracy, loves solving problems for customers, and thrives on turning enquiries into orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Preparing accurate and timely quotes based on customer requirements and specifications
• Processing customer orders efficiently, ensuring all details are accurately recorded
• Communicating with customers to confirm order details and provide updates on order status
• Collaborating with the sales team to align quotes and orders with sales strategies and goals
• Maintaining up-to-date product and pricing knowledge to give customers accurate information
• Ensuring compliance with Dahlsens policies and procedures across all quoting and ordering activities
• Resolving quote and order issues or discrepancies promptly and professionally
• Providing exceptional customer service across phone, email and the counter
• Contributing to process improvements that enhance our quoting and ordering system
• Reporting hazards, near misses and incidents promptly via Donesafe
• Living the 'Our Circle of Care' principles – See, Say, Listen, Stop – and looking out for the safety of yourself, your team, our customers and the community

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 2+ years' experience in a quotes and orders, estimating or similar role (preferred)
• Experience in the building materials, hardware or construction industry (preferred)
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Sales or related discipline (preferred)
• Proficiency with computer systems and software used for quoting and order processing
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy across quoting and order entry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in person, on the phone and by email
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve customer issues quickly
• Confident working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Solid understanding of sales and customer service principles
• A team player who is customer-focused, highly organised, results-oriented and takes initiative every day
