ROLE DESCRIPTION

As a Taste My Bean Team Member, you are the face of our brand and the cornerstone of every customer experience. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role that requires confidence, energy, and a genuine passion for customer service.

You’ll work across a range of café tasks, including food and drink preparation, order taking, drive-through service, cleaning, and maintaining a smooth and welcoming store environment. You’ll also support senior team members in keeping standards high and operations running efficiently.

This store is one of our busiest locations, so this role is best suited to applicants with previous worked barista experience and regular availability across the week. The ability to stay calm under pressure, work well with others, and follow procedures accurately is essential for success in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a TMB Team Member, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the pace, presentation, and overall atmosphere of the café during each shift. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Maintaining cleanliness and order across all areas of the café

• Cleaning public spaces, restocking supplies, washing dishes, and rotating tasks as needed

• Refilling and organising inventory, including restocking fridges, shelves, and prep areas

• Taking and accurately recording customer orders (including special requests or changes)

• Using the drive-through headset system to provide clear, prompt, and courteous service

• Operating the Point-of-Sale (POS) system with confidence, managing transactions, and providing accurate change

• Preparing cold drinks and assembling food items to TMB quality and presentation standards

• Heating, slicing, topping, and plating food menu items as per guidelines

• Maintaining a smooth workflow with your team through effective communication and task sharing

• Following correct food safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures throughout the shift

• Preparing hot beverages to TMB standards using a manual espresso machine

• Dialling in and monitoring coffee quality throughout the shift

• Performing basic maintenance on the coffee machine, including regular cleaning of group handles, steam wands, trays, and filters

• Working with the team to manage coffee flow during high-volume periods

  
  

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• Enjoys working with people and provides excellent customer service

• Strong verbal communication and clear English proficiency

• Confident multitasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Can follow set procedures and meet food safety and hygiene standards

• Regular availability to work during store trading hours (between 3:30am – 6:30pm, 7 days a week)

• Physically fit and capable of standing for 3+ hours at a time and lifting up to 20kg

• Holds a valid working status that permits employment in Australia for longer than the next 6 months

• Has reliable access to transport; public transport options are limited near our Hope Island location

COMPENSATION

Taste My Bean operates within the framework of the Food and Beverage stream of the Restaurant Industry Award 2020. Base Rate and penalty rates are per the award. 

• Worked hours are paid weekly.

• All time training and in team meetings are paid.
