Project Planner

What we can offer 

This role will support the planning and scheduling function across multiple major civil projects and rail projects, working closely with project management, commercial, and site teams to ensure accurate, up-to-date programs and robust reporting.

Duties of the role:

•      Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in Primavera P6, including baseline programs, progress updates, and variance analysis

•      Monitor project progress against baseline, identify schedule risks and delays, and support mitigation planning

•      Liaise with site supervisors, project managers, and subcontractors to gather progress data and validate program status

•      Support the preparation of look-ahead schedules, progress reports, and client/internal reporting packages

•      Assist with quantity tracking and productivity analysis to support cost and schedule performance reporting

•      Support cost control processes, including tracking of committed costs, forecasts, and variance reporting in conjunction with the commercial team

•      Contribute to claims and compensable delay documentation where required

•      Identify opportunities to improve reporting through data analysis, dashboards, and BI tools across the business

To be successful in this role you will:

•      Primavera P6 – proficient, hands-on experience on civil construction projects is essential

•      Demonstrated experience planning/scheduling on civil construction projects

•      Solid understanding of project management principles and methodologies

•      Working knowledge of cost control practices and their relationship to schedule performance

•      Commercial awareness — understanding of contract mechanics, variations, and how planning data supports commercial outcomes

•      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
