The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a pro-active individual to assist Council in delivering a cross-functional litter project. Work with consultants, internal and external stakeholders to deliver against the adopted litter prevention roadmap and litter action plan. Prepare policy advice and amendments to existing plans and strategies that commit Council to meaningful action on litter.
As a Litter Project Officer, you will perform the secretariat function for the litter action steering group and liaise with key community partners on litter. You will work across Council departments to build buy-in and ownership on litter action and monitor and assist in the development of budgets and manage (within delegations) the procurement and contract management processes.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a Diploma or Tertiary level education in public policy, environmental science or other related discipline (desirable) and has a current Class C Drivers Licence.
You will have the following skills and experience;
Demonstrated through knowledge of contemporary public area management.Demonstrated thorough knowledge in delivery of projects or programs of work.High level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.Demonstrated skills in interpreting and applying legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the public sector and the environment.Two (2) years related experience. (Indicative.)
Benefits
This is a fixed term part time position working 21 hours per week for a period of 3 years.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $95,251.52 gross per annum (paid pro-rata), comprising of:
$1,635.50 per week base salary (paid pro-rata)$196.26 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%) (paid pro-rata)
