Building Surveyor / Technical Advisor (Building Surveying)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced construction professional, architectural designer or technician, building designer, drafting engineer or contract administrator to join us as a Building Surveyor / Building Surveying Assistant.

Working alongside our Building Surveyors, you will help assess commercial projects through design, approvals and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing project documentation and assessing commercial projects against the NCC, WA building legislation and relevant Australian Standards

• Identifying and working through compliance issues with our Building Surveyors

• Assisting with compliance assessments, technical reports and certification documentation

• Liaising with clients, architects, builders, consultants and authorities, including through project meetings

• Conducting inspections

• Developing your knowledge of building regulation, compliance and approval processes

About you

• At least 5 years' experience in the commercial construction and/or design sector

• A relevant qualification in your existing field

• A strong technical understanding of commercial buildings and construction documentation

• Experience working with commercial project teams

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving ability

• Level 2 Building surveying practitioner or building surveying practitioner technician registration in Western Australia, or eligibility for equivalent registration in another Australian jurisdiction or New Zealand will be advantageous but is not required.
