Project Manager

Applied is looking for a Project Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of complex automation projects from concept through to commissioning.This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in technical delivery, enjoys building strong relationships and can confidently drive projects forward with clarity, accountability and momentum.
The RoleAs a Project Manager, you will oversee multiple automation projects across a range of industries including Food & Beverage, FMCG, logistics, mining and consumer goods.You’ll work closely with our Solutions, Mechanical, Electrical, Software & Controls and Production teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard.
You will be responsible for:Managing projects from handover through to FAT, SAT and final deliveryDriving schedules, milestones and cross-functional coordinationManaging project budgets, procurement and commercial performanceLeading customer communication and stakeholder engagementIdentifying and mitigating technical, commercial and delivery risksCoordinating suppliers, contractors and internal engineering resourcesSupporting commissioning and onsite activities where requiredMaintaining accurate project documentation, reporting and forecastingEnsuring projects align with Australian safety standards and internal quality expectationsContributing to continuous improvement across project delivery processesReporting to the Portfolio Manager who reports to C-Suite
What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who combines technical understanding with strong leadership and organisational capability.
EssentialExperience managing industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing or engineering projectsStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities across multiple projectsCommercial awareness including budgeting, forecasting and procurement managementExperience working within structured project delivery environmentsStrong problem-solving and decision-making capabilityComfortable working in fast-paced industrial environmentsCurrent driver’s licence and ability to travel to customer sites when required
Highly RegardedExperience with robotics, machine vision or advanced manufacturing systemsUnderstanding of PLC/control systems and industrial automation environmentsExperience managing FAT/SAT processes and onsite commissioningFamiliarity with platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition or SCADA systemsPMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualificationsExperience working with Australian safety standards including machinery safety
