About the Role

The Graduate Librarian, Client Services and Access initiates and supports the development, design, operation, promotion and evaluation of client, enquiry and resource delivery services to provide excellent, reliable, flexible and responsive services that meet the needs of UTS students, staff and community. 

The Client Services and Access department provides high quality, innovative, client-focused services to UTS students, staff and community. The department is responsible for the management and delivery of a range of services including onsite and online enquiries, membership, and physical and digital delivery of library resources. Client Services and Access ensures that the Library is welcoming and accessible to clients through the management of digital and physical entry points.

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

• Working independently to optimise service provision by applying expertise to solve complex problems and proactively supporting projects involving changes related to Library functions.
• Applying knowledge of Library and University policy, processes and systems and the interrelationships operating within the University to assist in supporting projects, delivering team outcomes, and general Library function such as access, resource delivery and enquiries services.
• Actively building and maintaining relationships with internal and external University stakeholders in order to collaborate and deliver comprehensive Library services.
• Contributing to and utilising the collection of research and data analytics that support enhanced decision-making as part of continuous improvement
• Completing manual handling tasks including but not limited to the frequent handling and processing of library materials, pushing and pulling loaded trolleys, regular walking and standing on in-person rostered work. 
• Developing and maintaining system configurations and analytical dashboards for Library services and enquiries management platforms, facilitating quality through training and process improvement.

1. Completion or near completion of a relevant Degree; or Diploma qualification with at least 2 years relevant work experience
2. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills that enable engagement, collaboration and relationship building with all Library stakeholders in both face-to-face and online environments.
3. Effective organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work efficiently under pressure, balancing multiple priorities to ensure goals are met, timelines are realised and outcomes are delivered in line with client expectations.
4. Demonstrated experience contributing to a positive team environment and working collaboratively and independently to achieve department and Library goals

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $87,295 - 99,865 pa (HEW 5)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.

Please note that this position is shiftwork so the successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends based on the roster.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a current Working with Children check.
