About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Practice Assistant to join our Brisbane Banking & Finance team. In this role, you will provide dedicated support to Partners Aaron Bourke and Paul McBride, as well as the broader team.

This full-time, permanent opportunity would suit someone who thrives on taking initiative, anticipating the needs of others, and ensuring the smooth running of a busy practice. With strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail, you will help keep the team one step ahead.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:

• Managing diaries and coordinating internal and external meetings
• Organising domestic and international travel arrangements
• Overseeing billing processes, expenses and related reporting
• Preparing and processing trust account transfers in accordance with firm procedures
• Amending, formatting and finalising documents, correspondence and presentations as required
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client and contact lists
• File opening/closing, archiving, and maintaining electronic and physical records
• Assisting with a wide range of administrative tasks to support day‑to‑day operations

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and can balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

About You

• Minimum of 3 years in a legal support role (such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary)
• Sound knowledge of the monthly billing process in a legal environment - experience with Elite highly regarded
• Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgement
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, choosing an appropriate style for their audience
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
