Clinical Nurse - Mental Health (Emergency Department)

Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse within the Princess Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department Mental Health team, you'll provide advanced specialist nursing care to consumers experiencing acute mental health presentations while leading clinical excellence within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. You will do this by:

• Delivering comprehensive mental health assessments, interventions and discharge planning.
• Providing clinical leadership, support and guidance to nursing and multidisciplinary team members.
• Coordinating complex consumer care and promoting recovery-oriented, person-centred practice.
• Contributing to quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Supporting education, mentoring and supervision of students and staff.
• Working collaboratively with consumers, families and key internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

You are an experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will bring:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
• Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in mental health nursing.
• Strong assessment, clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive multidisciplinary relationships.
• A commitment to clinical leadership, continuous improvement and professional development.
• The ability to mentor others while contributing to a positive team culture.
