The Opportunity

We are seeking an Event Sales Manager to maintain the high standards within this iconic location. This is a fast-paced role suited to a proactive sales professional who can hit the ground running, using their established industry knowledge and strong network to maximise existing opportunities, build meaningful client relationships and actively source new business across the wedding and social events market.

Reporting into the Director of Sales and Marketing and working closely with the wider event team, this role will excite a driven and enthusiastic sales professional looking for a new opportunity with a desire to exceed targets and build success for themselves and the venue.  

The Requirements

• 4+ years’ previous experience in the hospitality events industry, ideally with a strong background in weddings and social events.
• Proven ability to conduct professional and engaging site inspections, manage and respond to event enquiries, prepare tailored proposals and contracts, and ultimately convert enquiries into confirmed events.
• Proactively identify and generate new wedding and social event business through networking, industry relationships, referrals, showcases, venue events and other business development activities.

• Bring an established network of contacts across the wedding and events industry, including wedding planners, stylists, florists, photographers, celebrants and other key industry partners.
• Strong financial understanding, including sales reporting, budgets, forecasting and revenue management.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets across new and existing wedding and social event business.
• Develop, execute and review a progressive business development plan to drive wedding and social event enquiries, conversions and revenue.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the sales journey, from initial enquiry through to event confirmation, ensuring a high level of service and client experience.
• Attend and actively participate in sales team meetings, strategy sessions, showcases, networking events and industry functions.
• Possess strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and confidently guide clients through the decision-making process.
• Excellent client management and relationship development skills, with a genuine understanding of the importance of creating memorable experiences for couples and social event clients.
• Strong knowledge of the wedding and social events market, including current trends, client expectations, competitor offerings and key industry suppliers.
• Be self-motivated, commercially driven and proactive, with strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and sales opportunities simultaneously.
• Must be able to legally work full-time in Australia.
