Excavator Operator

Whitebridge Contracts is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team across ongoing civil and infrastructure projects throughout Perth.

This is a key position within our civil crews. We are looking for a capable operator who is confident undertaking detailed excavation and trenching, can work independently from plans and levels, and takes responsibility for the machine and work front.

The Role

Your primary role will be operating an excavator across civil, drainage and underground services works, including:

• Detailed trenching and excavation for underground services

• Excavating around existing services

• Working accurately to design levels, grades and construction drawings

• Competent use of GPS / machine control

• Bulk excavation, trimming, backfilling and loading

• Safely lifting and positioning pipes, pits and other materials during installation

• Coordinating with drainers and ground crews to maintain an efficient work front

• Completing daily machine inspections and taking responsibility for the care and condition of allocated plant

We are looking for an operator who can think ahead, understand the sequence of works and help drive productivity on the ground rather than requiring constant direction.

About You

To be considered, you will need:

• Strong excavator operating experience within civil construction

• Proven experience in detailed trenching and underground services

• Competency with GPS / machine control

• Confidence working to plans, levels and grades

• Experience carrying out lifting operations safely from an excavator

• Good understanding of civil and drainage construction

• Excavator competency/ticket

• White Card

• Current driver’s licence

• Strong safety awareness and good communication skills

Additional Experience

The excavator will be your primary machine; however, from time to time you may be required to assist elsewhere on site.

Experience operating a Posi Track / Skid Steer, loader, tipper or water cart, along with an HR licence or other relevant civil tickets, will therefore be well regarded but is not essential.
